Tragedy hits home to so many these days. The extent of loss to families throughout the world is immeasurable to say the least. Whether war, disease or senseless violence against innocent children, we are all being touched by the world gone awry.
Yesterday, as the news was unfolding, I tuned into a local channel in Texas only to find a chat feature associated with it. It hosted a myriad of horrible, nasty posts of all sorts from people, that I am guessing, didn't even know one another. There was no sense of humanity in any of those jabs thrown back and forth from one message to another. The vitriol responses, most of which had nothing to do with the tragedy which had been unfolding, were mean-spirited and vicious in so many dark and disturbing ways. It was sad and disheartening, again to say the least.
It made me think. Where do we go when we don't want to be a part of that kind of hopeless banter? When we are crying out,
"My eyes are blinded by my tears, Each day I beg for your help, O Lord; I lift up my hands to you for mercy." Psalm 88:9
Where can we go?
I'd like to offer a place for people to offer up any and all prayers. Not just for this senseless tragedy but for anything that comes up in their lives. For us to come together and pray for one another when our burdens are too much to carry alone and we really need to be embraced by our fellow human beings in love and caring.
So instead of my usual journaling prompt, I am offering this space for you to come to at any time to pray, make prayer requests, give praise for answered prayer...all in the name of loving one another and coming together as one united family! Share this with anyone you know who needs prayer, or would be a prayer warrior for others!
